So Bizarre. Who signs up the last week?

Since November, I have been helping with a women's winter Bible Study. It is a weekly study. Due to Easter and other events going on, we decided on the first day of the Bible Study that the Bible Study would stop for the year at the end of March. Thus, we have advertised that the last day of the women's Bible Study is going to be on Sunday, March 29.

Everything has gone well this year. Since the last session will occur on Palm Sunday, many attendees will not be able to make it because they are traveling, visiting family, or have other obligations. Thus, we decided the last session is going to be a break-up party. We decided to meet at a local restaurant and celebrate the Bible Study.

A woman saw an advertisement for the Bible Study online. She contacted me today to sign up. I told the woman, Sunday is the very last session. We are doing a break-up party. We will be discussing some Bible, but we really are not having a Bible Study. The woman was very rude, "Well, then you don't want me to come?" I told the woman she is free to join us at the restaurant, but she should not come to our regular meeting place because we will not be there.

The woman snapped at me, "Well. I guess I won't come." She hung up the phone.

I am highly perplexed why the woman was so upset. The Bible Study has been meeting since November. If she wanted to attend, she had a number of months to do so. Moreover, the session is advertised to end on March 29 and is listed as a "winter" Bible Study. I know it is not real warm outside yet, but I like to think since we are beyond the Spring Equinox, winter is over.

I hope I did not give our Bible Study group a bad name by informing the woman we will not be meeting at our regular location and instead are having a break-up party. The last thing I want to do is to give God or those who believe in God a bad name.
